Welcome to 1st Writes

As you can see, I am a freelance writer, tutor and editor based in Poole, Dorset.

As a writer:  I have published over 100 short stories and articles.  My work has appeared in over 20 different publications, in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand.

As a tutor:  I run half day and longer courses on fiction writing.  I also run a variety of creative writing sessions which can be tailored to suit the client group.

As an editor:  I edit, research and write copy for two Third Sector publications.

How I can work with you:

Individuals:  Come along to one of my courses, learn more about writing fiction and meet other like-minded people.   This is what former course participants have said:

Writing groups: I have many years’ experience of running and belonging to writing groups.  If you’d like me to come along to run a workshop for your group, let me know.
